Mexico: Mariachis, Tequila, and Acapulco (9 Days)

01 - THU.

MEXICO CITY

Welcome to Mexico! Transfer to the hotel and free time.

02 - FRI.

Mexico City - Teotihuacan - Mexico City.-

We begin our tour by visiting the Plaza of the Three Cultures and continue to the impressive archaeological site of Teotihuacan. We will visit a handicraft center. On the way back to the city, we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Return to the hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure.

03 - SAT.

Mexico City - Tepoztlán - Cuernavaca - Taxco.-

We depart for Tepoztlán, located next to a large green hill featuring a small pyramid (we will not visit the pyramid itself), with time to stroll around. We continue to Cuernavaca, where you can visit the Palace of Hernán Cortés and the cathedral. Time for lunch. We then proceed to Taxco, with time to explore the city before checking into the hotel.

04 - SUN.

Taxco – Chilpancingo – Acapulco.-

We travel through the mountains toward Chilpancingo de los Bravos. Our guide will accompany you to the regional museum. We continue to Acapulco, where you will have time to visit the popular beach and have lunch. In the afternoon, admission and a visit to the Fortress are included. Transfer to the hotel and free time.

05 - Mon.

Acapulco - Zihuatanejo.-

We continue our journey along the Pacific coast. Arrival in Zihuatanejo, a charming tourist destination. We include a boat ride to Playa Las Gatas, where you will have the opportunity to swim, relax, and have lunch. Return by boat, accommodation, and free time.

06 - Tue.

Zihuatanejo - Janitzio - Pátzcuaro.-

Leaving the desert landscapes behind, we enter the state of Michoacán with its green mountains. Arrival at Lake Pátzcuaro, where we board a boat to Janitzio Island, home to the Purépecha community. Time for lunch, a stroll through its traditional streets, and—if you wish—a climb up to the imposing statue of José María Morelos. Return by boat and arrival in Pátzcuaro.

07 - Wed.

Pátzcuaro - Morelia – Cuitzeo del Porvenir - Guadalajara.-

We depart for Morelia, the capital of Michoacán. We continue our route to Cuitzeo del Porvenir, located beside Mexico s second-largest lake. We then proceed to Guadalajara, the capital of the state of Jalisco—a colonial city and the birthplace of Mariachi music and tequila.

08 - Thu.

Guadalajara - Tequila - Guadalajara.-

Panoramic tour of Guadalajara, including admission to the Hospicio Cabañas, a World Heritage Site. Afterward, we travel to Tequila, where we will have time for lunch, a stroll, and a visit to a distillery producing this potent spirit, so iconic to Mexico.

Return to Guadalajara; free afternoon.

09 - FRI.

Guadalajara - Mexico City.-

After breakfast, transfer to the bus station to take a scheduled bus back to Mexico City. Arrival around 4:00 PM.

End of services. Please check your flight schedule to see if you need an extra night. Departure transfer to the airport is not included.
