Ek Balam & Cenote Hubiku

Ek Balam archaeological site where there are more than 50 structures among which is a monumental acropolis with palaces decorated by a large stucco frieze representing various concepts of Mayan mythology, statues of various rulers and a mausoleum that keeps the tomb of the Mayan king Ukit Kan Lek Tok.

Ek Balam was a political entity of great wealth and prosperity, reaching a population of between 12 to 18 thousand inhabitants.
