Overview

We own a wide collection of fully equipped fishing yachts, and have the convenience of being nearby the ideal spots for the capture of spectacular specimens. This makes us the ideal marina for this activity. We also give you the option of cooking your catch, if you wish so, in our restaurant; the best way to make this placid experience a delightful extravagance.

Start fishing just minutes away from setting sail! Relish a relaxing fishing day on board of any of our different yachts where, a few minutes from leaving the docks, you will arrive to the fishing spot; a place where the most appealing and different fishing species dwell. At the end of the day, you may bring your catch to the restaurant where, if you wish to, it will be cooked without any charge (drinks are not included).

Itinerary

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE MARINA AND DEPARTURE
Where is the dock or marina?
When you reserve we will send you the ticket with the instructions how to get to the marina from your hotel (very easy and close). We are in the middle of the Cancun hotel zone so do not worry it is easy.

What time do we need to be at the dock?
When you reserve you will receive a coupon with all the needed information including the time you need to be at the marina dock. Usually you need to be 30 minutes before the departure time for the chcek in, (on less there is an special request written on the ticket)

Do you provide transportation from my Cancun hotel to the marina dock?
Transportation from your hotel to the dock is not included in the fishing charter. But you can take a taxi and the driver will drop you off at the marina. Or take a bus and they will drop you off close to the marina.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BOATS

Do you have English speaking captains?
Our captains and crew speak at least “fishing English.” The language will not be a problem.

Do I need to bring anything?
As far as fishing tackle is concerned you do not need to bring anything. We provide all tackle needed.
We do recommend you bring a hat and sunglasses and sun block.

Do I need to bring food?
Food is not provided on any of the charters.
We recommend that if you want food do one of the following:
1 – “Raid” the breakfast bar or dinner bar at your all inclusive hotel
2 – Stop at a convenience store on the way to the marina and buy more beer, things to make sandwiches and grab some chips too. Convenience stores called OXXO seem to the best.

Do I need to bring more beer and liquor?
While beer is included there are only 2 beers per person. It is not an “Open Bar.” Also liquor is not included but you are welcomed to bring it.
Should you want more beer we recommend you bring it with you – go to Wal-Mart or to a chain of convenience stores called OXXO for beers and liquors.
The transportation from the marina will not stop for beer and sandwhich materials so we recommend you have it upon pickup.

Will I get seasick?
Seasickness depends on the individual and the conditions of the sea the day you go fishing. We recommend that if you do not know if you get seasick that you take a commercial motion sickness medication or use the wrist bands or patches that go behind the ear.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE FISHING

What can we expect to catch?
What you will catch depends on the time of year you come fishing.
To see the various species that you may catch to see a calendar and for recent catches in our fish pix of the day section.

Do you do trolling or bottom fishing?
When you charter the boat you decide. We normally recommend a combination of the two. So if trolling is slow we pull up on the reef and let you go for groupers and snappers. However the decision is yours.

We want to catch bill fish. What do you recommend?
First look at the fishing calendar and come when the bill fish are here.
Second, take an 8 hour charter. You enhance your chances.
Third, tell the captain at check in that your main interest is billfish.

How is the time calculated on a 4, 6, 8 hour trip?
The hours of your fishing trip are calculated from “dock to dock.” In other words a 4 hour trip is “4 hours from the time you leave the dock until you return to the dock.” Same for the 6 and 8 hour trip. Travel time to the fishing grounds is part of your “trip time.”.

What kind of bait do you use?
We use ballyhoo, mullet, and lures. We will vary the baits depending on the fish available at the particular time of year you go.

Do you catch and release?
Game fish which are not edible (sailfish, and marlin) are released. If you want to mount a fish them, then those fish are brought in so we can send them off to be mounted.

I want to mount my catch. Can I do that?
Yes the staff at the dock will arrange everything for you so that you can mount your fish and have it shipped.

Is there fly fishing available from the deep sea fishing boats?
The situation is different here in Cancun that in the Pacific where you actually spot the fish. Here you hardly ever see the sailfish - which makes fly fishing for them very difficult. So we do not offer fly fishing from our deep sea fishing boats.

Is there any freshwater fishing in Cancun.
No there is no freshwater fishing in Cancun. There is saltwater deep-sea fishing and shallow water spin tackle fishing.

Should I tip at the end of the fishing trip?
Generally a 10% to 15% tip is given if the crew did a good job for you.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE FISH WE CATCH

What happens to the fish we catch?
All billfish caught are released unless you want to mount them. Then we bring them in and they will be sent away for mounting.
Edible fish are put in the cooler and can be part of your “tip” for the crew or the crew will gladly filet them for you. Then you take your catch to your favorite Cancun restaurant for that evening’s dinner.

We strongly recommend that you take some fish filets and go to a local restaurant for dinner. The concierge in your hotel can make restaurant recommendations, the crew at the dock can make recommendations and we will make recommendations. One fun way to end a day of fishing is to eat your fresh catch. We also recommend that you have the restaurant prepare you catch 3 different ways. Then you decide which is your favorite. By the way, your meal will cost about $15-$17 USD per person with side dishes when you bring the fish.

What are the best fish to take to eat?
The best fish for your dinner will be Dorado (Mahi Mahi,) Wahoo, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Snapper, and Grouper. Any of these will make for an unforgettable dinner.

Can I take fish back to the U.S. in an ice chest?
You can but we do not recommend it. Since security has been tightened at all airports worldwide we do not recommend you try to take edible fish back to the U.S. First the airlines no longer accept Styrofoam ice chest, and securing dry ice in Cancun will cost you more time and effort than it is worth. Then you will have delays on arrival in the U.S. while your baggage is checked.

Questions about reservations and cancellations

What happens once I reserve?

Once you send in a reservation with your credit card we will charge your card the amount of the tour. Then we will send you a coupon which you will print and bring with you to be given to the driver at the time of pickup. The coupon is your proof of purchase and will have a unique confirmation number and coupon number on it and an emergency phone number to call if something goes wrong.

How much in advance can I make the reservation?
We do recommend you make your reservations as far in advance as possible so that you are sure to get the trip when you want to go. There are many times we have no space available 4-5 days in advance. We recommend you send in your reservation, complete with your credit card information, and if space is not available we will call or email you with when space is available. So be sure to include your phone number on your reservation form

Should I send in my credit card with the reservation?
Yes because you have a much better chance of getting the tour the less time that goes by before the departure. If there is no space available we will not charge your credit card but advise when the tour is available closest to the date you want. If you send in a reservation form without a credit card number inquiring about availability then we respond, simply more time passes giving the tour more time to fill up. Again once you are ready to reserve it is best to send your reservation with a credit card. Please remember no reservation is made until we have payment via your credit card or by other means.

I send in a reservation with my credit card and what happens?

Once you send a reservation we confirm that there is space available. Then we charge your card. We then put the confirmation number on a coupon or voucher and send it to you in an email. You print it and that is your paid receipt for the tour. You present the coupon at check in.

How can I check the status of my reservation?

It is our objective that you know what is happening with your reservation. We will send you an update if we are going to be than 48 hours getting you a response. If 48 hours has gone by and you have gotten no update or coupon please call
1 866 97 85 985 from the USA and Canada or +52-998-848-17-80 from the rest of the world. If you are already in Cancun our local number is 848-17-80 and if you are outside Cancun dial 1 866 97 85 985 also there is the CHAT (excellent option).

What is your cancellation policy ?

You can cancel any trip or tour up to 48 hours before departure and only pay a 5% administrative processing fee. If the trip or tour is cancelled by the operator you will receive a 100% refund or we will reschedule at your request.
